About Me:
As a Professor in the Psychology Department at the University of Southern Mississippi, I am a faculty member in the Counseling Psychology Master's Program and Training Director of the Counseling Psychology Doctoral Program. I completed my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at Florida State University in 2006 and am a licensed psychologist in the State of Mississippi.
I maintain a program of research in diverse areas of vocational psychology, career development, workplace issues, and assessment with a concentration on Holland's RIASEC theory and the Cognitive Information Processing Theory. I regularly teach courses in vocational psychology, careers in psychology, and counseling practica. I help students find ways to better understand the career development of people from all walks of life; including research participants, their current & future clients, and themselves.
