Recent & Ongoing Research Projects
Ongoing Projects
We have several team research projects currently in progress. See the Research Team page for information on ongoing individual projects.
-In collaboration with Dr. Melanie Leutyand as a part of the career counseling specialty clinic, we have developed a career counseling group that is running through the Community Counseling & Assessment Clinic. The 5-session group and treatment manual is structured around the Cognitive Information Processing Approach with integration of Theory of Work Adjustment components. USM students will recieve career development assistance from Counseling Psychology graduate students trained in this treatment while we study the effects of this intervention.
-The research team is wrapping up its 3rd phase of research at the WIN Job Center, the local employment office. The team has been working with WIN for several years to better understand the career development of unemployed adults through surveys and interventions delivered by team members. Several team members will present on the totality of this work at the 2012 National Career Development Association Conference. The initial phases of this research are now published in the Journal of Employment Counseling. We have submitted the results of our 3rd research phase for publication and await the results of the editorial review.
