Career Counseling Group
Are you struggling in your job?
Are you trying to figure out what to do with your life?
Are you unsure what your college major should be or your college major is right for you?
Have you lost your job?
Are you wondering how to find a job?
Are you wondering if you should get more education?
The Career Counseling Group through the Community Counseling & Assessment Clinic can help you address any of these issues in a supportive, laid-back, group environment.
To get started, contact the Community Counseling & Assessment Clinic at 601-266-4601 to sign up for an individual meeting with a counselor to determine if this is the appropriate group for you. Once you and the counselor determine that the group will meet your needs, you can attend 5 weekly group sessions with other people dealing with work, career, and educational concerns. Individual appointments for all sessions are also available.
The group career counselors will help you learn more about your values, interests, and skills as well as good career decision-making skills. Job search resources specific to your needs will be presented and explored within the group.
Some clients may qualify for free services. Current USM students may be able fulfill course requirements or receive extra credit for a psychology course by participating in the group. When calling the clinic receptionist, please indicate if you are a community member or a current USM student seeking extra credit to help determine your eligibility.
